On Tuesday night I was at the spartan Southend and Rochford Co-operative Party AGM. At this brief meeting I was re-elected as secretary.

Yesterday saw my youngest have her first day at senior school, and me attend a Leigh Branch Labour Party meeting in the evening. So, after a month of quiet on the meeting front, we are fully back into the swing of things with my diary filling up; next week, for instance, will not see me out campaigning because I have no spare time.

This month will see the annual party conferences. An irregular attender myself, I will be in Manchester this year. Again I am room sharing with my conference twin, Allan Davies.
