DPAC is about disabled people and their allies. DPAC is UK based but we know that disabled people in other countries are suffering from austerity cuts and a lack of fundamental rights. We welcome all to join us in fighting for justice and human rights for all disabled people.

The above is taken from the Disabled People Against Cuts website. Their blog is an interesting read. They are also on Facebook.

Their post A plea to the left – STOP using the “v” word could easily be written about me – I am pretty sure I have used vulnerable when discussing disability. I think there is a fair argument about the use of the word in respect of poverty – in a society that is dominated by money it is no surprise that vulnerability is linked to those at the lower rungs of the wealth ladder. Those with disability are often poor – but I take their point, and will bear their views in mind in future.
