Hustings in Southend, no longer a dearth, but far from a feast

After writing about the dearth of hustings it was almost inevitable that I would soon learn of such events that are scheduled for the near future. So here are three that I have been told about.

Shoeburyness, 7pm on Monday 12th May at New Hinguar School, Garrison Road.

Chalkwell, hosted by the Chalkwell Residents Association: 8pm on Wednesday, 14th May at St Hilda’s School Hall, rear of 15 Imperial Avenue, Westcliff-on-Sea, SS0 8NE.

Westborough, Wednesday 14th May at the Royal British Legion in Northview Drive (I do not have a start time).

This week most of the postal votes will be distributed. When you factor in the number of postal voters and their likelihood to actually vote (as compared to those who turn up at polling stations on polling day) the result in some places could be decided this week. Those who organise hustings are advised to bear this in mind.
