Belfairs Focus

belfairsLDBarry Godwin promises to “keep you in touch – continuously” which conjures up images (for me, anyway) of a steady stream of paper dropping through the letterboxes of Belfairs. I do wonder what he will be telling Belfairs residents as this leaflet contains little information about Belfairs itself.

In this leaflet Barry questions the cost of the webcasting of Full Council meetings. Funnily enough, I can only recall one dissenting voice in the chamber when we debated it – mine.

Barry also thinks it is great news “that Leigh and Kent Elms libraries will remain as a joint “hub” library” – further confirming his betrayal of Westcliff Library and all who use it.

Apparently unaware of the irony Barry also states this: “If you are looking for an established Councillor of note, to replace those who have deserted the ward for another…

I remind you that Barry is currently a Leigh councillor, which means he is also attempting to move wards. Whilst this move is being forced on him by Leigh Lib Dems who prefer the charms of Carole Mulroney, he is nonetheless moving. Pot, kettle, calling, and black come to mind.

Anyway, his chances must be remote. Not only is his party plumbing new depths as regards to their national popularity, the Lib Dems came fifth in Belfairs in 2012. This ward was won by an Independent then, with the Conservatives second and UKIP third.

If it’s out and out, blatant hypocrisy, why in the name of God would you include it IN YOUR ELECTION LITERATURE?

The idea that these people could have their hands *anywhere* near the levers of power after May terrifies me.
