Should Tory Cabinet members be updating their Facebook status whilst in Full Council?

It is odd at least, although I doubt it actually offends any official protocol. Some, though, may consider it a slap in the face for local democracy that those who wield power take so little interest in what ordinary members are saying. The meeting was long, but there were many important topics that needed discussing.FacebookJC1FacebookJC2

  1. Conservatives tend to be incontinent when it comes to social media:
    Recently:
    - Breaking News: “Mandela Dies, Cameron Twits” – only half of this headline is actually useful
    - “I too am a cupcake” – Prime Minister puts his weight behind a witness in a current trial
    - “Memorial? Hell No, a blond wants me in her photo – let’s go for it!” Selfies are not compulsory for the selfish!

  2. Alan Grubb says:

    Hi

Are you able to give a breakdown on how each councilor voted with regard to the issues on the agenda?

    Alan

  3. Paul Collins says:

As we were reminded by the Mayor last night, discussion is through the Chair. It does show disrespect for his position.

  4. If the portfolio holder for Children and Learning can do this, can I presume this gives a green light to students in lessons to do likewise?
