Pretty well the Priory

I was a very regular visitor to Prittlewell Priory in my youth. I could not begin to guess at the number of visits I made there. The last twenty years have seen a mere handful of trips – I have refereed on the nearby pitch more often than I have entered the Priory of late.
My most recent visit was last night. The Mayor hosted a drinks reception to mark the re-opening of the museum after a comprehensive refurbishment.
The place has altered much since my first visits, and the temptation to dwell on nostalgia will not prevent me from saying that it really does look good.
Priory Park, home of the Priory museum, is a real gem. Thank goodness attempts to nibble away at it in recent years have been defeated. I have many cherished memories of the place, and my children continue to enjoy it.
